29 april utses Västsveriges framtida tillväxtföretag, då regionfinalen i affärsplantävlingen Venture Cup Väst hålls på Storan i Göteborg mellan kl. 18.00-21.00
Venture Cup is a non-profit organization that was founded in the west of Sweden in 1998 on a initiative by McKinsey & Company in cooperation with Chalmers, Gothenburg University and Innovationsbron. Today the organization is supported by a majority of Sweden's universities and colleges, and also by partners, both commercial businesses and from the public sector. 4 visitors have checked in at Venture Cup Väst. Venture Cup Väst belönas med 200 000, 100 000 samt 50 000 kronor och går tillsammans med andra- och tredje-pristagarna vidare till Sverigefinalen. Där får de mäta sig med Sveriges bästa affärsidéer och slåss om förstapriset på 300 000 kronor.

Utdrag från pressmeddelande av Venture Cup: Inför närmare 350 deltagare på Venture Cup Västs regionfinal offentliggjordes vinnarna i årets upplaga av tävlingen STARTUP. Vinnarna delar på en kvarts miljon kronor och är nu direktkvalificerade till Sverigefinalen den 12 september där de tävlar mot entreprenörer från hela Sverige.
